This wall mounted Pod Point EV installation, which was classed as a non-standard EV installation, required installing a 32 amp cable under the floor boards in the kitchen to a exterior position due to the fuse-board being located in the centre of the property.
Our customers' specification was for us to install a waterproof EV home charging station to fast charge their electric vehicle, which was a new Mini. We installed a 7.2kw Pod Point universal solo EV charger complete with a new designated EV circuit and fuse-board, housing a type A RCD.
We were able to offer a complete electric vehicle installation service which included a free on-site survey, preparation of Annex D forms, submission of the OLEV grant and of course, the onsite installation. Upon completion of the works, our NICEIC trained EV specialist demonstrated how to use the Pod Point Solo EV charger and how to plug the type 2 leads into the customers' electric car.
