For this St Albans domestic electric vehicle charging unit installation, we initially undertook a free site survey to make sure the EV installation qualified for the OLEV grant.
With the proposed EV charger installation matching the criteria set by OLEV, the Annex D forms were issued by Green Electrical to our customer. Once completed and signed, an installation date was agreed.
On the day of installation, our engineers took the time to discuss the job with the customer, confirming the position of the EV wall charger and then we proceeded with the home EV charger installation. The installation started with a new and separate 2-way fuse-board, complete with an A type RCD, the cable run then followed, with the Pod Point solo EV charger being installed last.
Once all safe and securely installed, we then tested the charger with an approved electric vehicle charger tester, to check the load and polarity. Our engineers then demonstrated how to use the charger and the Pod Point App before we finally commissioned the EV charger with Pod Point.
